Something to do with the timestamping of the relevant source files for the Makefile, no doubt.  The resulting file is full of air, which has simply hilarious consequences.  Can be fixed by copying over an existing, working '''ut_convert.f90''' file and rebuilding.

The doesn't hamper the general ROPP user, who starts from a downloaded tarball rather than an svn checkout.  Hence the very low priority for fixing.
