Many thanks for your feedback.

Yes, the beta version we released (v0.8) didn't include the 1dvar
which unfortunately is a little delayed. We thought to release
the initial code without it, so testers could have something to start
with (and would pre-install dependencies like netCDF which might anyway
take them some time). The documentation, of course already describesthe 1dvar.

The 1dvar part is about to undergo internal alpha-testing and we will
make it available as soon as we can - this will be called beta release
v0.9, and may include bug fixes to the v0.8 if any are reported.
You won't have to go through the request procedure again - we'll just
notify beta testers when its ready to be downloaded, and if any
of the other components have changed.
