There is however one issue that is a bit confusing. I noted that 
the shared/static libraries in my case did not change at all, all 
those changes were for other libraries that we have already 
installed on our system (netCDF, etc), thus I don't need to compile 
them. And the core ROPP is compiled as before, using shared 
libraries if provided. I think we should sort this out for the next 
version (10.0), and provide a better configure option with ROPP. 
This would also remove a lot of the current zoo of files in the 
configure directory.
