Memory Leak in Intel Compiler

Reported by: frae Owned by: frcm
Priority: normal Milestone:
Component: ROPP (all) Version: 0.9
Keywords: Cc:

Description

When running the FM program ecmwf2ro_1d, the ifc compiler shows a memory leak. I have an example file with 1000 occultation that I run through ecmwf2ro_1d. It occupies several 100 MByte after 2 Minutes. The ifort, nag, g95 do not show this problem. Not sure if this is in FM, TOOLS, or IO.

I have no idea how to find a memory leak, I once tried to find one and it was rather tedious. The gprof seems to be of no help, so once might have to look into the code.

After discussing, this seems only to happen with v7 of the Intel compiler. The current version is 9.0. As there is a certain likelyhood that the problem occurs because of a compiler bug that has been fixed since then, we won't put time into finding a workaround for an outdated compiler.
