but there is a warning in the LOG files

WARNING (from set_obs_levels_bangle):  RoC missing from data structure ... setting equal to effective radius

Although this is only voicing a warning about something that used to happen silently anyway, it could worry users unduly. Consider downgrading to an INFO message.

I think this is actually a good idea. We've always issued a warning if the undulation is missing, and a missing radius of curvature would make a much bigger difference to impact parameters than a missing undulation (20 km cf 100 m).

Will leave warning message in there for now.
