Yes, the beta version we released (v0.8) didn't include the 1dvar which unfortunately is a little delayed. We thought to release the initial code without it, so testers could have something to start with (and would pre-install dependencies like netCDF which might anyway take them some time). The documentation, of course already describesthe 1dvar.

The 1dvar part is about to undergo internal alpha-testing and we will make it available as soon as we can - this will be called beta release v0.9, and may include bug fixes to the v0.8 if any are reported. You won't have to go through the request procedure again - we'll just notify beta testers when its ready to be downloaded, and if any of the other components have changed.

Dear Beta Tester,

As you requested a ROPP license for beta testing a few weeks ago, we would be grateful if you could provide us with some response on your experiences. Could you please answer the following questions:

  1. Did you download and install ROPP on your local machine? If not,

please provide some reason why not and disregard all further questions.

Yes.

  1. What type of platform and compiler did you use for the installation,

please provide for example the 'uname -a' command output for the platform and the compiler name and version.

Cygwin, g95

  1. Did you encounter any problems in the installation process, either

during the installation of the libraries, or of ROPP itself?

Looks fine.

  1. Did you find the installation manual helpful, are there any parts

missing or ambiguous or did not provide enough information?

It is instructive and helpful

  1. Did you run through any of the provided testing scripts to assure

that the compiled copy is working? If yes, please mention any problems you encountered.

Not test yet

  1. Did you find the user guide and reference manual useful? Is anything

missing from them?

It is helpful.

  1. Any other problems or suggestions for improvement, e.g. concerning

the GRAS-SAF web site at the Met Office, or modules missing in ROPP?

ropp_1dvar is not in the download directory, but the download instruction includes it.

Thanks for your help
